Ariana Dewji and Belis Cavlak were best friends throughout their time at DESSC and graduated from DESC Sixth Form in 2017. Ariana undertook both Politics and Drama whilst at the College, and Belis focused on the Sciences in preparation for her chosen career path. Ariana is now a Marketing Executive (who recently made a speech to former British MP's) and Belis will be a qualified doctor by July 2023.

Both students were taken on a tour of the College by Mr Roberts, who was able to show them around the site and explain the changes that the College has undergone since they were here. They were also able to speak to their old teachers and members of DESC staff and had a great deal of fun and hilarity in recalling stories from each of the blocks and areas that they visited. It was actually the small (often trivial) aspects of school life that returned to them, like discussions during revisions sessions or the 'goings on' in their Sixth Form Centre in H Block!

Both students commented on feeling that while much of the original charm of the College (particularly during their visit to Ms Kelly in Performing Arts and their tour of the 'original' part of the site) had remained the same, they were amazed by the Sixth Form facilities and the fact that they were one of the final year groups to have been housed in H Block for Sixth Form. They were really impressed with the sheer amount of space and aesthetic of the buildings, not least the fact that students were reading books in the zen garden, playing pool to relax in their spare time and studying in the Study Rooms.

We are incredibly proud of all of our DESC alumni, and it was wonderful to reconnect with such brilliant people as Ariana and Belis on their tour.
